For years, I had proudly used a popular brand known for its environmentally friendly hair care products. It was a selling point for our salon, and the products had earned our loyalty. However, as I looked ahead, I realized it was time to infuse DECO with a new vibrancy and mindset. I’m a visual person, and I knew we needed a complete transformation – a burst of color and shamanic energy that would captivate our clientele.

The Leap into the Unknown

Opting for a complete change can be daunting, but it’s often the leap that propels your brand to new heights of creative freedom. I knew exactly what DECO needed, but I also understood the challenges of departing from the familiar. After all, I had been intimately familiar with the previous product line for over 13 years. Loyalty is a noble trait, but it was time for me to stay true to myself, embracing the vibrancy that resided in my heart.

The Butterfly Effect

Just as a butterfly undergoes a remarkable transformation, DECO underwent its own profound evolution. It was a vibrancy that resonated with my vision for the salon, and I made the decision to pivot. Sustainability for the environment and clean, safe products had always been close to my heart, especially since my own mother’s battle with lung cancer. I knew I had to maintain the high standards I had set for my clients and community.

A Deliberate Choice

After thorough research and reflection, I made the bold move in September of 2022. By late October, I was ready to embrace a new direction for DECO. The decision was to bring in both R+co and Davines, renowned for their high-quality, sustainable, and environmentally-friendly products. With labels boasting vegan, paraben-free, sulfate-free, and gelatin-free formulations, and the assurance of not being tested on animals, these brands met my stringent criteria.

A Supportive Transition

The transition was a journey that I couldn’t embark on alone. I received invaluable assistance from our representatives at True Star, as well as comprehensive product knowledge and color classes, website support, and overall guidance. With the help of this dedicated team, I made the transformation over a few weekends, and by mid-November 2022, DECO was ready to unveil the Deco Difference.

The choice to change and relearn everything familiar is never an easy one. Change can be intimidating, but it’s a constant in the ever-shifting landscape of business. Since my decision a year ago, I’ve been delighted with the results. Both R+co and Davines, each unique in their own way, have elevated our services, bringing DECO into the future of luxury sustainable beauty. It’s a journey that has given birth to the Deco Difference, and I couldn’t be more excited about what lies ahead.
